A four-member Central team headed by Union Agriculture and Cooperation Joint Secretary Sanjay Holia on Tuesday visited some Phailin and flood-affected areas in Mayurbhanj district to conduct an on-the-spot assessment of the losses.
The team visited Madhuban and Astia bridges on the Budhabalanga river, the disaster-ravaged area Tarajudi of Shamakhunta block, besides visiting some affected areas of Badasahi block, and interacted with the affected people. The team was assisted by Revenue Divisional Commissioner (North Division) PK Meherda and Collector Rajesh Prabhakar Patil. District adminhighlighted about various damages and submitted a memorandum of Rs 232.51 cr.
