The Centre on Friday announced that two-member multidisciplinary teams would be deputed to Odisha and five others States in view of the continued increased numbers of Covid-19 cases being reported in these States. The other States are Kerala, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, Chhattisgarh and Manipur. The team to Odisha would be led by Dr A Dan, Public Health Specialist AIIH&PH. It would help the State in its efforts for targeted Covid response and management and effectively tackling the pandemic. The team would consist of a clinician and a public health expert. It would monitor the overall implementation of Covid management, especially in testing, surveillance and containment operations, Covid-appropriate behavior, availability of hospital beds, sufficient logistics including ambulances, ventilators, medical oxygen, etc. and vaccination progress. The team would monitor the situation and suggest remedial measures. A copy of the report would be provided to the Union Health Ministry.
