Tomar issued this direction in response to a request of Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Pradhan had sent a petition of Barahipur GP Sarapanch Kishore Rout which alleged rampant irregularities in section of PMAY beneficiaries in Mahanga block. Rout alleged that the BDO and PEOs were engaged in huge scale corruption soliciting bribe and including enelgible beneficiary lists.

“As per Socio-Economic and Caste Census (SECC) 2011, all houseless families and households living in zero, one and two room kutcha houses, subject to exclusion criteria, are provided assistance under the PMAY-G after a Gram Sabha verification. As the issues raised by you are of serious nature, the Chief Controller of Accounts has been asked to sent an internal audit team to Odisha to conduct a specific audit into the matter,” Tomar mentioned in the letter.
