The third District Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) review meeting was held here under the chairmanship of Baleswar MP RK Jena.
Jena urged the concerned officials to expedite works and accomplish the tasks with responsibility.
Jena informed that that he has engaged NGO Fluoride knowledge and action plan for mitigation of fluoride in drinking water in the worst hit village Patripal under Remuna block. He assured to extend financial support out of his lAD fund.
“The reputed organisation has already applied its model plan in Birbum district of West Bengal and brought the fluoride content down to less than one ppm from 20 ppm. It applies nano technology to combat the menace instead of RO (Reverse Osmosis) which yielded wonderful result,” said Jena.
He also opined that gas connection must be distributed after endorsement of the PRI members. “Since the gas distributors follow the SECC ( socio economic caste census) for identification of beneficiaries , the real time update is not available . About 8 crore people of India are a victim of the flaw of the SECC survey .Therefore, the beneficiaries identification should be routed through the PRI members,” Jena demanded.
The MP also expressed concern over the deteriorating service of BSNl and emphasized on immediate identification of lands and eviction action in cases where Government lands have been occupied illegally.
