The Project Monitoring Group (PMG) under the leadership of Additional Secretary of Union Cabinet Secretariat Anil Swarup on Friday reviewed the Cabinet Committee Infrastruct ural (CCI) projects in Odisha at a high-level meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Gokul Chadra Pati at the State Secretariat here on Friday.
State Special Secretary of Planning & Coordination (Project Monitoring) Pradeep Kumar Jena presented the project-wise updates. Swarup said “excellent progress” has been made in different projects. He said Odisha is the first State to introduce a State Project Monitoring Group to put the investment projects on fast track.
The Chief Secretary set timelines for different activities in each project and asked the project developers as well as the concerned departments to accomplish the task within that period. He also asked the Railway authorities to put barricades and provide passages/underpass for movement of animals along the railway lines passing through jungle areas.
The Cabinet Committee on Investment (CCI) has been set up to fast-track the large investment projects in different States. At Friday’s meeting, 38 projects in the coal, railway, power, National Highway and steel sectors were reviewed.
The issues relating to forest diversion, forest clearances, environmental clearance, permissive possession, possession of acquired land, tree cutting, DGPS survey, FRA & PTG certificates, raw material linkage and power supply were discussed and sorted out.
The projects discussed included Haridaspur-Paradeep rail link, Rail Connectivity Project for Paradip Port, RSB Metal Tech Pvt ltd, Jharsuguda, Rengali doubling, Talcher-Bimlagarh new railway line, Angul-Sukinda new line, Jharsuguda-Barpali-Sardega railway line, Nataraj Mine, Hingula OCP, MJSJ Coal Gopalprasad, Kaniha OCP, Ananta Extn.OCP, Garjanbahal OCP, Orient, Belpahar OCP, Angul-Sambalpur Toll Road Project, Cuttack-Angul Toll Way Project, Birmitrapur-Barkote Highway Pvt ltd, Panikoili-Rimoli IOCl projects, Raipur-Ranchi pipeline, thermal power project of NSl, lanco Babandh Power ltd, 4,000-MW Odisha Ultra Mega Power Project, KVK Nilachal Power, UCM Coal Company, Posco Steel, Integrated Stainless Steel, VISA Steel, SMC Power Generation, Essar Steel, JSPl Angul Steel, Monnet Ispat and Energy, Bhushan Steel, CRNO Project and Jindal Steel & Power.
