Union Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Ramdas Athawale has sought a report from the Chief Secretary of Odisha regarding the allegation of inactiveness of financial corporation of dalits, SCs/STs and Other Backward Class (OBC) people through a letter on July 22.
The financial corporation of Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribe people, other backward class people (OBC) and minorities have become inactive in the State since last 10 years, said the Republican Party of India State chairman Shaikh Abdul Wali at a Press meet here on Thursday.
He said, “With the support of dalits, Schedule Caste and tribal people and people belonging to OBC, Naveen Patnaik has been our Chief Minister for the fourth consecutive term.” But nothing tangible has happened for the development of SCs and STs, he alleged.
Getting information about the negligence by the State Government towards the dalits, SCs and STs, Athawale has sought a report from the Chief Secretary, informed Wali.
Dalit Mahasangh secretary Dibakar Das, Samajika Nyaya Andolan secretary Ashok Das, Bapi Singh from the Adivasi Mahasabha and Chandramohan Majhi from the Adivasi Mahasanghh were present, among others at the meet.
