Central Govt failures: CPM to hold demo before DMs

Published on:

The State CPI(M) has decided  to launch an agitation across the State against the emerging crisis in the country. The party cadres and workers would stage demonstration in front of the Collectorate of each district to  highlight  the issues  that the nation is facing. This was decided in a zone level meeting comprising  leaders and workers Baleswar, Bhadrak, Jajpur and Mayurbhanj of the party held here on Wednesday.

The meeting presided over by Nirmal Nayak expressed concern over the present economic scenario and Central Government's approaches to various sectors.

Addressing the cadres, senior leader Janardan Pati  said the country is facing multiple crisis and the Central Government has failed in all fronts to mitigate  the crises.

One the one hand, India is facing a meltdown in the economic front due  wrong policies, on the other, unemployment rate is spiraling high to a new record  and GDP is witnessing a slump.

The farmers are committing suicides in the want of adequate protection for their livelihood, but the profit making  PSUs and State owned institutions and corporates  are  being privatized. Besides the Government is showing undue favour and love for the private companies. Loan waiving  gift to the big private farms is made where as the funds allocations to the welfare eccentric schemes are slashed, Pati alleged.

He alleged that the prices of essential commodities are sky rocketing while atrocities on the women and scheduled communities and  minorities were increasing.

Those including journalists, writers , artists or intellectuals who are raising voices against the failures or wrong policies, or exposing the scams  of the Government are being tagged as urban naxals, anti nationals and sent to jail, Pati slammed.

Pati also observed that the KALIA scheme of the State Government was a mockery. Along with these there are several other  issues which pose challenges for the nation as well as for the party. Therefore the party would mobilize opinion of masses and embark on agitations, he informed.

As per the decision in all district headquarters, the party would stage demonstrations against the failures .

Sisir Hui , Santosh Das, Sitansu Senapati, Premaranjan Patra ,Bijay Patra, Diptiman Acharya and representatives  of different districts  under the zone also spoke.
