Janaki Das, Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) of Basudevpur block in Bhadrak district was caught red-handed by the Vigilance police while accepting a bribe of Rs 3,000 on Friday.
Accused Das had demanded the bribe from a complainant Raj Kishore Nayak, engaged as driver on daily wage basis in the office of the Basudevpur CDPO to pass a bill of Rs 39,960.
Her office room at Basudevpur and residential house at Bhadrak town was searched. Later, she was arrested forwarded to court by the anti-graft agency.
