After addressing a workshop in Sundargarh police district headquarters on modernisation and crime control in police department on Friday, ADG BM Akhaya in a Press briefing said the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and System (CCTNS) has been adopted in the country. Under this scheme, 784 police stations, SP offices and police headquarters are interlinked with modern computerization.
This method is adopted in 16 police stations, three SDPO offices and Sundargarh SP office, said Akhaya. While 12 police stations are computerized through BSNl broad band, Kinjirkela, Hatibari, Talsara and Dharuadihi police stations are connected through satellite. Through this system, anyone can lodge an FIR from his home online at any time. For the convenience of the common people and providing police service at door step of the citizens, the system will help a lot, said Sundargarh SP Sanjeev Arora.
