CBI, Vig raids raise eyebrows

Published on:

The CBI raids on houses of BJD leaders and the Vigilance raids on petrol pumps ahead of panchayat polls have raised many eyebrows.

Moreover, reactions made by senior political leaders belonging to ruling parties at the Centre and the State over the actions of their Governments' investigating agencies have created an impression that the agencies are being misused with political intention.

In  reaction to the Vigilance raids on petrol pumps, one of which is owned by Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's elder brother Soumendra Pradhan, BJP leader Prithviraj Harichandan said, "The Vigilance action is not well-intended. The State Government might have undertaken this move in a similar intention it had taken to put former DGP Prakash Mishra in trouble."

Though he didn't take any name, Harichandan apparently said the BJD is trying to put Union Minister Pradhan in trouble.

BJD leader and Minister Pradeep Maharty said, "How is that they (BJP) will commit mistakes and won't be punishedIJ"

Congress leader Sarat Rout said, "They (BJP and BJD) both are misusing their power."
