After reaching Rayagada on Thursday, CBI DIG lata Manoj Kumar and Investigating Officer DSP MK Pathak led a team of eight members, including a four member scientific team in the Itishree murder case.
The CBI submitted the first phase investigation report on August 4 as the deadline and requested the Supreme Court to extend the investigation period for six months; but the apex court directed the CBI to complete the investigation within next three months.
The entire team moved to Tikiri and interrogated the headmaster, teachers and attendants of the school. The scientific team thoroughly cross checked the room where Itishree was staying.
The CBI retrieved the certified copies related to the case from the district court. The team was analyzing the documents.
As for the first time, such a big team arrived along with a scientific team and there is a deadline of three months given by the Supreme Court, it is assumed there will be a lie detection test and a few arrests.
It may be noted that till now, the CBI has interrogated around 90 persons, including staff of the school where Itishree was working, some local business people and politicians, etc; but no arrest has been made till date.
