CBI sword on IG Koche

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), probing the multi-thousand crore chit fund scam in the State, has grilled Central Range Inspector General of Police (IGP) RP Koche in connection with his alleged complicity with the Seashore Group of Companies, a money collection firm.

Koche was grilled by CBI sleuths at an unknown place on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, admitting that he was questioned by the Central investigating agency, Koche did not reveal anything in detail about the quizzing.

“Yesterday, they (CBI) had sought clarifications regarding the case, and I gave the details to them. I have answered all their queries,” said the top cop.

Sources said Koche was grilled regarding a diary seized from arrested fixer Shubhankar Naik, who was allegedly acting as a link between bureaucrats, political leaders, police officials and Seashore officials.

Names of influential people like newspaper owners, editors, political leaders and IAS and IPS officers are mentioned in the diary, the sources added.

The sources, basing on the diary, said former Crime Branch DIG Rajesh Kumar and another IPS officer Satish Gajbhiye were also questioned by the CBI regarding their alleged links with Seashore.
