The CBI, probing the chit fund scam in the State, has reportedly sought the details of vehicle passes issued to certain MlAs and Ministers allegedly having complicity with some tainted money collection firms, from the State Assembly Secretary.
The investigating agency on Tuesday has written to Assembly Secretary Amiya Sarangi seeking details about the passes issued to certain lawmakers between 2009 and 2014, sources said.
As per reports, CBI has wanted to know whether the members were using their personal vehicles or the vehicles allocated by the Government and if the pass was issued against the vehicle or not or whether they had changed their vehicle during the period 2009 to 2014. Meanwhile, the Assembly Secretariat officials were working overnight to produce the same to the CBI.
Sources added that barring Chief Minister, Chief Secretary, Under Secretary and leader of Opposition, CBI has asked the details of vehicle passes of all other members.
The fresh move of the CBI would certainly bring trouble for Civil Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Sanjay Dasburna who was allegedly gifted a Pajero SUV by AT chit Fund Company chief Pradeep Sethy which the Minister was using with Secretarit and Assembly passes.
