A day after arresting Kalia Sahu, a city-based builder, in connection with a sex racket in 2010, a team of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday raided his residence in VSS Nagar area here and seized pen drives and some other materials. Sources said the team seized pen drives, some CDs and other incriminating documents.
The builder had allegedly made an MMS of him having sex with his receptionist and then circulated it on various platforms including WhatsApp.
The woman had approached an NGO which, in turn, had approached the Supreme Court. The court on March 13 had come down hard on the Union Home Ministry and Odisha Government, for their failure to apprehend the person who had uploaded the videos on social networking platforms like WhatsApp.
The court had even imposed a fine of Rs 50, 000 on the State Government for its failure to depute a lawyer for the hearing of the case. In its order, the bench asked the Director General of Police (DGP) to cooperate with the CBI in catching the culprits in the case.
