The CBI on Thursday conducted simultaneous raids on the offices and residences of the office-bearers of chit fund company SR Green House limited for duping investors of crores of rupees in Odisha and West Bengal.
According to CBI sources, the search operation was going on at 19 places in the two neighbouring States including one place in Odisha. The Central probe agency raided offices of the firm in Baleswar and seized many important documents during the raid, added the sources.
A release from CBI spokesperson in New Delhi said, "In the chit fund scam cases, searches are being conducted by CBI at 19 places in connection with investigation of case against the company SR Green House. Out of 19 places, searches are being conducted in one location in Odisha and the rest in West Bengal. The case was registered on the orders of the Supreme Court related to the chit fund scam.
