CBI raids OCA office on age fudging

Published on:

A two-member CBI team on Tuesday raided the office of the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) here to enquire into an old case of age-fudging allegation by some state cricketers.

Sources said the premier investigating agency is verifying the age of at least 15 players, who had represented the State at the nationals in the U-16 and U-19 age-group tournaments.

OCA had suffered major embarrassment when the BCCI had suspended at least seven senior women cricketers and 12 U-19 players of the State last year. At least four Ranji players of the State had also received similar notices from the BCCI.

The CBI team is learnt to have questioned at least five players on the day verifying their ages and it was also learnt that the agency has asked the players to submit certificates of their age obtained from the local civic body.
