The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday interrogated Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Sanjay Dasburma’s brother-in-law (wife’s brother) Satyapriya Jayasingh for four long hours in connection with the alleged money transfer from the tainted Artha Tatwa chit fund company to his firm, the Team Media Hospitalities Pvt ltd.
“The CBI asked me if any financial transactions were made between the Team Media Hospitalities Pvt ltd and the Artha Tatwa. I replied to all the queries asked by the CBI,” Jayasingh told mediaperosns after coming out of the CBI office here.
Notably, the Central investigating agency had served a notice to Jayasingh to appear before it on August 8 to record his statement. However, he had informed the agency that he would appear after August 10.
The notice was served on the basis of the information extracted by the CBI during interrogation of AT Group chief Pradip Sethy at the Jahrpada jail here recently. He had reportedly revealed that Jayasingh’s company had received substantial amounts of money from the AT Group.
Jayasingh would be called for interrogation again if needed, sources said.
