Former PCC president Niranjan Patnaik has welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision for a CBI inquiry into the chit fund scam in the State.
Reacting to the apex court’s observations during the hearing of a PIl seeking a CBI probe into the chitgate on Tuesday, Patnaik said the court has seen through the BJD Government’s design to protect the real villains by ordering a Crime Branch inquiry into the huge scam. He hoped a CBI probe would expose the role played by several Ministers and other BJD leaders, who were the “Maha Nayaks” behind the “Maha loot”.
