CBI probe sought into Swami's murder

With the State Crime Branch probe into the murder of VHP leader Swami laxmanananda Saraswati making no headway even after six years of the gruesome killing on this Janmashtami day, speakers attending a commemoration meeting here demanded a CBI inquiry into the incident for immediate arrest of the culprits and conspirators involved in the crime.

Organised by the laxmanananda Saraswati Smruti Nyasa, the remembrance meeting was attended by Swami Pranarupananda Saraswati, Kui community leader Padmanav Pradhan and social worker Ashok Kumar Das and many other eminent persons.

“Swamiji was a great visionary and always worked for development of the poor and downtrodden in Kandhamal district irrespective of caste, creed and religion. Even though six years have elapsed after his murder, the State investigating agency is yet to find a tangible lead in the case, which is a shame for us,” said social worker Das.

Swami Pranarupananda also urged the Government to ensure safety and security of Hindu seers and spiritual leaders and demanded an immediate CBI inquiry into the Swamiji murder case to unearth the truth.

Among others, Smruti Nyasa executive Mansuklal Sethia and member Dr laxmikanta Das also urged the Government take up the issue seriously and hand over the case to the CBI for speedy probe and result.
