Top CBI officials, who are camping in Odisha for last two days in connection with investigations into multi-crore chit fund scam in the State, met State DGP Sanjeev Marik at the police headquarters on Friday.
A CBI Joint Director and the DIG of the CBI’s Special Investigating Team (SIT) probing into the chit fund scam along with the CBI SP of Bhubaneswar met the DGP for about 20 minutes.
While the CBI officials did not speak to the media, Marik said the CBI officials paid a “courtesy call” to the police headquarters as part of an administrative protocol. It has been almost a year now that the SIT is investigating into the money trail and scam following orders from the Supreme Court.
