Challenging the Odisha High Court’s bail to AT Group chit fund accused and MlA Pravat Tripathy, the CBI, probing the multi-crore chit fund scam in the State, has moved the Supreme Court.

Sources said the apex court has accepted the Central investigating agency’s plea and served notice to the Banki MlA.

Meanwhile, sources revealed that the CBI too moved the apex court challenging the bail granted to former Advocate General Asok Mohanty, also a chit fund accused.

The Odisha High Court had, on March 3, granted conditional bail to Tripathy, who was then languishing at the Jharpada Special Jail since he was arrested by the CBI on October 31 last year.

The court had granted him the bail on a bail bond of Rs 10 lakh and asked him to surrender his passport.
