The newly-appointed CBI Special Investigation Team (SIT) Joint Director of Odisha Zone Nabin Singh on Monday visited the Bhubaneswar CBI office and held a review meeting on the status of the chit fund scam probe in the State with the Investigating Officers (IOs) and also with the agency’s local SP.
Singh had a review meeting with the 16 IOs probing the multi-thousand-crore scam perpetrated by 44 chit fund companies in the State.
Apart from the IOs from Odisha, IOs from other States where chit fund scam has also taken place were present at the meeting, sources said.
The meeting discussed the status of the investigation and the progress made so far. Besides, the mode of investigation into these cases in future also figured at the meeting.
On the other hand, the Central investigating officials on Monday too grilled brother of Artha Tatwa (AT) Group of companies chief Pradip Sethy.
The officials also conducted raid on the house of Samruddha Jiban chit fund firm’s agent Madhab Rout at Bajapura in Mahanga in Cuttack district.
