The CBI on Thursday afternoon grilled Kamyab TV channel director lipi Das in connection with the chit fund scam. lipi is the wife of Manoj Das, who was arrested by the CBI in Artha Tatwa (AT) Group link.
Though she didn’t respond to mediapersons’ queries about her one-hour- long interrogation by the CBI, it was believed that she was quizzed about the Kamyab’s financial dealings with the AT Group.Notably, her husband, now in jail, had earlier signed a Rs 90-lakh deal with AT Group chief Pradeep Sethy for hiring of six teleports belonging to his company. When the CBI interrogated Manoj Das about the deal, he could not produce the documents.
Meanwhile, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the CBI’s Special Investigation Team (SIT) S Bagchi also reached the Odisha office here in the morning.Sources said Bagchi would review the chargesheet to be framed against the Artha Tatwa (AT) Group by the CBI. The chargesheet is likely to be filed on Monday next.
The DIG would also review the status of the CBI probe into the chit fund scam in the Seashore Group of Companies, added the
sources. Tightlipped Bagchi didn’t reveal any information to mediapersons regarding any more political link in the chit fund scam. When the reporters asked him whether the State Government is helping the probe agency in terms of logistics, he said, “We got a lot of support from the State. We have asked for some more.”
