CContinuing its interrogation drive, the CBI grilled Artha Tatwa (AT) Group chit fund firm CMD Pradeep Sethy at the Jharpada Special Jail here on Wednesday.
Source said the CBI Bhubaneswar SP and the Investigating Officer (IO) quizzed Sethy about the link of political leaders and other influential people with him and his money collection company.
Earlier on Monday, the CBI had arrested suspended Youth Congress State president Rajat Choudhury and Orissa High Court lawyer and former Government Pleader Devashis Panda after an hour-long interrogation of Sethy at the jail. Sethy is lodged at the Jharpada jail.
Currently, both Choudhury and Panda are under the custody of the CBI for interrogation after the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) of the Special CBI Court here granted a three-day remand of the duo on Tuesday.
Sources said more arrests may take place in connection with the AT chit fund scam in near future. Meanwhile, a CBI team has seized lawyer Panda’s car. Panda allegedly took the Toyota vehicle bearing registration number OR-O2-BT-0553 from the chit fund firm.
