The CBI on Wednesday arrested two Assistant General Managers (AGM), DN Routray and Rabi Shankar Dasgupta, of the UCO Bank in connection with a fraud.

Earlier, the CBI on April 3 had arrested two persons, including a posh hotelier, in connection with a loan fraud. CBI had arrested hotelier Chitta Ranjan Mallik (45) and his accomplish Sourya Ranjan Behera (35) for forging documents and taking a loan of Rs 5.37 crore from Secretariat branch of a nationalised bank.

Officials said the fraud took place during the period from May 2005 to August 2011. Sourya had taken a loan of Rs 45.89 lakh from the bank on the name of his transport company, which never existed. This apart, Sourya had taken loans by creating fake firms. “The two AGMs had helped him getting the loan,” said a CBI official.
