The Economic Offence Wing (EOW) of the Crime Branch would take Astha International’s State head Subhranshu lenka on a two-day police remand from Monday. The sleuths have planned to go company’s head office at Surat in Gujarat to investigate more into the case.
Meanwhile, after hearing the arrest of lenka, the Gujarat Crime Branch probing the Astha International’s fraud in Surat and other cities of the State, might come to Odisha for more investigation. The sleuths have already arrested 16 persons of the fraudulent company in connection with the cheating case and also sealed its corporate office at Surat. The other accused are absconding, said sources.
“Mostly investors from Bhubaneswar and Ganjam district and living in Surat were taken for ride by the firm. We are investigating into the matter. If needed, we will go to Odisha to interrogate firm’s State head lenka in connection with the fraud case,” said a Gujarat Crime Branch official.
