The Special Task Force (STF) of the Crime Branch (CB) was entrusted to probe the arrest of the five suspected SIMI terrorists in Rourkela and their activities.
According to Crime Branch Special DG Bijay Kumar Sharma, the probe would focus on their stay in the State, activities and plans.
Meanwhile, an eight-member team of the STF visited Rourkela to start their investigation and seek the remand of the five arrested persons, including a woman.
Earlier in the day, DGP KB Singh met Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Home Secretary Asit Tripathy and briefed them about the arrest of the five.
