The Economic Offence Wing (EOW) of the Crime Branch sealed a flat of the Seashore Group in the city on Friday. The flat worth over Rs 50 lakh stands on a 1,534 square feet area inside Sita Khetra apartment at Samantarapur in the city, said Crime Branch sources.
The EOW sleuths also located another flat in the apartment, but could not seal it as it was rented out and the tenant asked for a month to vacate the flat. Seashore Group CMD Prashant Dash had purchased the flats in 2009, said sources.
“We sealed a flat after verifying and locating the property of the company. Till now, we have sealed 18 properties of the company,” said Crime Branch DIG Rajesh Kumar.
Besides the flat, the EOW has already sealed a corporate house of the company at Patia, a guest house at Patrapada and a packing factory at Saheed Nagar in the city. The cost of all the sealed properties would touch Rs 200 crore, said the investigating agency. Meanwhile, the EOW took Umamani Home Creations managing director Narayan Nayak on remand to interrogate a real estate cheating worth Rs 50 crore.
