The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Crime Branch on Monday raided a 22-acre farmhouse owned by the Seashore Group at Barala village near Satyabadi in Puri district. The farmhouse was sealed after completing the legal formalities.
The farmhouse, which has around 500 coconut trees and 10 ponds, was sealed in the presence of the local Tehsildar. More raids on Seashore properties are likely to take place in the coming days, the EOW sources said.
The Crime Branch has intensified its search to seal the properties of the company by conducting raids at different places where the company has its assets. As the investors of the company have been agitating in front of the residence and offices of company CMD Prashant Das, the investigating agency is continuing its search operations to locate the company’s assets.
After verifying the ownership, the Crime Branch is sealing the properties so that they can be later sold or auctioned and the proceeds can be refunded to the depositors, the officials said.
Notably, the Crime Branch had earlier sealed six offices of the company across the State besides company CMD Prashant Das’ farmhouse worth over Rs 1.5 crore at Angul.
The investigating agency had also seized the company’s Multi Purpose Cooperative Society, Seashore Real Estate Division, Seashore Workshop Division, cold storage and a cultural division office in Cuttack during the raids.
