A two-member Crime Branch team led by DSP Aloka Ranjan Das on Monday visited the Kendrapara Urban Cooperative Bank ltd, Main Branch near Tinimuhani to open the locker of
Sarathi Baba’s close associate Pradip Sahu, a resident of Mahipal.
The Crime Branch personnel opened the locker in the presence of Sahu, bank senior officials, bank lawyer and gold smith and seized about 80 grams of gold ornaments, said CEO Susil Samal.
The investigating agency had asked the bank authority to inform Sahu to remain present at the bank on Monday, following which the bank authority had issued a notice to Sahu for the same.
Since opening of the locker in August, 2013, Sahu has operated it only once on September 4, 2013, said bank branch manager Manoranjan Mohanty.
