A former Lecturer, V Sarbaeshwar Rao, who had helped Gopalpur MLA Pradeep Panigrahi and his would-be son-in -law Akash Pathak in their fraudulent activities, is now on the radar of the State Crime Branch (CB).
A CB team is camping in the city to nab him but Rao has gone underground. His house in the city was found locked. Rao was the Principal of City College from 2011. At that time Panigrahi was the chairman of the college managing committee.
It is alleged that Rao used to provide the data about the college students to Akash and also collected money on his behalf and handed it over to the MLA.
Akash’s personal assistant David Peter, who is now in police custody, told investigating agency about Rao.
