A six-member Crime Branch team on Wednesday conducted an inquiry at Tikanpur-based Sriram Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya in Garadpur block.
The Crime Branch team verified the college documents. Similarly, on Tuesday the Crime Branch team verified the documents of Baba Sanatana Sanskrit College and Sri laxmi Sanskrit College at Jagulaipada under Derabish block following allegations of irregularities.
According to official sources, the Crime Branch team verified the documents related to the infrastructure, student strength, whether the lecturers appointed in the colleges were coming to the college regularly to attend classes, year of establishment of the institution, whether the college got grant –in -aid or not etc, besides quizzing the college authorities.
Notably, a week back, a three-member of Crime Branch team also had visited to Kendrapada and conducted an inquiry in three Sanskrit Colleges.
There were allegations against these colleges that some of them were functioning in only in pen and paper. Following a media report, the district administration had conducted a thorough inquiry and had closed down several Sanskrit colleges in Rajnagar block.
