Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate Pritish Kumar Routray allowed Crime Branch to take Sarat Patra on remand for three days on Saturday after Patra, a close aide of Sarathi Baba, was arrested on the day for abetting the fake Baba’s crime.
Patra was summoned for interrogation on Friday evening at the Crime Branch headquarters. Following hours of interrogation, he was arrested.
There was allegation against Patra that he forced a victim woman to keep physical relationship with Sarathi. The woman on Saturday last had recorded her statement before the SDJM Court here.
Notably, Patra, a Mathematics teacher at Mahanga-based Birbhadreswar High School, on August 13 had been suspended by the School and Mass Education Department for dereliction of duty.
