Cow attack and stray cattle menace are witnessed all around the city of Bhubaneswar on almost every road. Road users are at a severe risk as the animals roam freely. The civic body, BMC, is highly irresponsible in dealing with this menace. Cattle owners hardly care for any threat of action against them.
It is obvious that no Corporator would support action against the cattle owners and harm their vote bank. The cattle are harmless as long as they are calm; but at times, suddenly start running erratically and attack everyone on their way.
How long can people suffer this? The civic authorities need to act against the cattle owners and impose heavy penalties on them. Alternatively, road users should sue the civic authorities in case of accidents due to cattle menace on the roads.
