Cattle mafia threaten official in city

Published on:

An official of the Animal Welfare Board of India was threatened of dire consequence when he was on a mission to check cattle trafficking in the city.

He was tipped off about the movement of some trucks trafficking cattle illegally and was waiting on NH-5 in Bhubaneswar with police escorts when some SUVs with some goons came to the spot and threatened him. They snatched away his mobile phone when he was calling DCP of the area. When two locals tried to intervene in the matter, they were beaten up by the miscreants.

The State has become a hub of illegal cattle trafficking and goons rule the roost on highways. The police are seemingly hand in glove with criminals as no action has been taken so far despite complaints.

Mafia and terrorists are ruling Odisha, funding terrorism. Trillions of dollars of black money is being generated through cattle smuggling, said an Animal Welfare Board release.
