In a new twist in the sexual exploitation case filed against Ollywood actor Tattwa Prakash Satpathy alias Papu Pompom, the minor girl victim’s father on Monday filed a compromise affidavit at the Khordha District and Sessions Judge Court seeking withdrawal of the case on the ground that the matter has been “amicably resolved”.
Meanwhile, sources said the hearing on the affidavit by the court would be held on July 11 along with Pompom’s bail plea.
“The father of the victim filed an affidavit the court saying ‘we do not want to proceed any further in the case since the matter has been amicably settled among both the parties’,” said Friends Foundation secretary Babita Kar.
Kar had filed the complaint against Papu Pompom at the Mahila police station here on behalf of the victim.
Kar charged that within three days of the lodging of the complaint, a person went to the house of the victim with a packet and met her parents.
“The victim’s parents beat her up and did not allow her to meet us. At that point, the statement of the victim was recorded by the Commissionerate police under Section 164 of IPC. This kind of amicable compromise does not happen in a minor girl sexual abuse case. Therefore, the court rejected the affidavit,” she added.
She suspected that a gang must have been involved in this episode. She wondered that the Commissionerate police have not sought remand of the actor as yet.
Moreover, hearing on the actor’s bail plea could not take place on Monday as the police failed to submit its case diary in the matter in the court. The court deferred the hearing to July 11.
