The lakhe Ghar Ganda Samaj staged demonstration in front of Tarbha block office and took out a rally giving slogans against Sonepur SP for not taking action against a demonstrator for passing cateist remarks.
Rabinarayan Mishra of Sonepur College had passed casteist remark against Odia lecturer Saroj Jagdala. The forum gave a nine-point charter of demands for the Governor of Odisha to Tehsildar cum BDO Prasanna Pande. Jagdala had lodged a FIR against Sonepur college Chemistry demonstrator Mishra on July 13 for allegedly passing the casteist remarks. He had also brought it to the notice of Subarnapur Collector Dasirathi Satpathy. The Collector had sought a report from the SP within 24 hours and also directed the college Principal to submit a report within 3 days. But unfortunately, the police have not arrested Mishra.
Among others, Samaj president Madhab Kumbhar, former MlA Binod Patra, Bimbadhar Nag, Mahendra Suna, Bijaya Haripal, Mohan Mahanand, Anil Tandi and Raju Nag were present.
