Published on:

Even as more than a month has passed since the demonetisation of Rs500 and Rs1000 notes, people in interior areas of Subarnapur district are still struggling to get cash.

However, the situation in urban areas of the district is limping back to normal.

The problem in availability of cash persists in rural areas because of limited numbers of ATMs and they are not being loaded with cash regularly. long queues are even noticed outside the ATMs even today. New Rs500 notes are yet to be seen in many parts of rural areas. People have demanded adequate supply of Rs500 notes and other smaller denominations for easy retail transactions.
