The lefripada police on Friday registered a case against Sundargarh Congress MlA Yogesh Singh for allegedly giving death threat to Tangarapali BDO Soumendra Kumar Das.
The BDO had on Thursday filed an FIR against the MlA at the lefripada police station.
“A case has been registered against Yogesh Singh under Section-506 of the IPC. Police will soon start investigation into the incident,” said Sundargarh Additional SP Pramod Patel.
As per the allegation of Das, MlA Singh telephoned him and told him to allocate all work orders under the Gopabandhu Gramin Yojana (GGY) to his supporters.
As he refused to do so saying that he can’t go against the rules, the MlA abused him and threatened him to kill him, the BDO alleged.
However, Singh refuted the allegations. “The allegations are baseless. I had
called him to advise him to give work orders as per
rules. I never abused him,” the MlA said.
