Police on Tuesday registered a criminal case against Priyadarshan Pattnaik, convenor of the Jagannath Sena, who on Monday during the visit of Chief Minister Naveen Pattnaik to pay obeisance at the Biju Patnaik Samadhi at Swargadwar cremation ground had tried to burn an effigy of Naveen Patnaik.
Moreover, while police prevented the agitator, Inspector of Police Girija Pattnaik was injured in a scuffle.
An attempt to murder and several other Sections of IPC have been slapped against Priyadarshan Pattnaik, and police are looking for Pattnaik to arrest him.
