The SDJM Court here on Saturday rejected the 1CC case filed by Orissa Progressive Women’s Forum chairperson Mamata Samantaray on August 22 against former Kendrapada SP Satish Kumar Gajbhiye and two other police officials.
Samantaray had a 1CC case before the SDJM Court against Gajbhiye, the IIC of Kendrapada Sadar police station Biranchi Bag and also against woman SI Pangya Kar, alleging that while she was staging a peaceful agitation in front of the Sarathi Ashram road on August 6, she faced police excess and Gajbhiye, Bag and Kar tortured her inhumanely by assaulting her whole night, after confining her in a room the same night.
SDJM Pritish Kumar Routray on Saturday rejected the case following some material contradictions were found between the petition and the complainant’s statement, stated Additional Public Prosecutor Sanjay Kumar Jena.
