What happens when a doctor starts romancing the creative world of art and poetry! Cardiologist Dr JP Das’ experiment with the creative world comes out to be wonderfully refreshing poetry and paintings. Two of his books, Dialogue Heart to Heart and Intimate Whispers, were unveiled by eminent poet Dr Sitakant Mahapatra in an elitist gathering at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan  on Saturday.

Presided over by Angarag chairman Dr Dinananth Pathy, the evening commenced with vocal invocation by Odishi dancer Guru Meera Das followed by Dr Soubhagya Pathy reviewing books and Gayatri Das reciting poetry from J P Das’s book ‘Intimate Whispers’. The doctor-artist and poet spoke on his passion for art and poetry to make his life colourful. “Heart is always colourful in both physical and emotional dimensions.

The few poems that I have composed were spontaneous outflows from my heart as most of them wonder about the creation and the mighty spirit guiding them,” says Dr Das who braces his feelings through brush and convert rhythms of heart to poetry. Though a busy doctor, JP’s day starts with drawing a sketch and he retires to bed only after making at least a drawing. His paintings are interactive and participatory. Establishing a new paradigm of creativity, JP’s works rise above the individual with a unique dialectical resonance.

Published by Angarag, Bhubaneswar under the editorial supervision from eminent painter and art historian Dr Dinanath Pathy and Dr Soubhagya Pathy, the books contain paintings, drawings and poems of JP. Earlier, Anagarag has published JP’s art book ‘Muse of Heart’ in 2013. ‘The dialogue heart to heart’ speaks volumes on the promising artist in JP whereas ‘Intimate Whispers’ is quite vocal about his talent in poetry. The event went more thought- stirring with presence of eminent artists, writers and poets from the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.
