A Management Development Programme (MDP) on “leadership and Capacity Building of Executives” at the School of Management, National Institute of Technology, Rourkela, was inaugurated on Monday.
The programme was supported by Rashtriya Ispat Nigam limited (RINl), Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP), Visakhapatnam and attended by forty executives of the organisation.
The inaugural ceremony was chaired by Director, NIT Rourkela Prof Animesh Biswas. In his address to the delegates, he emphasizes the role of learning and development to sharpen managerial skills.
Chief guest of the event Prof Tridib Chakraborti, former professor, IIM Kolkata, in his address highlighted the need of proactive leadership and continual improvement of the executives.
He also mentioned the idea of self discipline and its contribution in character building.
Prof Chandan Kumar Sahoo, the course coordinator of the programme, welcomed the delegates and hailed the RINl, VSP for its effort toward training and development initiatives for the executives. The programme will end on July 27.
