On the occasion of the World Cancer Day, a special programme ‘Sanjivani’ was organised here by the Red Swastik Society, Odisha branch.
Former Chief Secretary, Chairman, Western Odisha Development Council and Golf Club president Asit Tripathy and Chief General Manager, (SBI) Chander Shekhar Sharma were the chief guests, while secretary, Golf Club Tapan Mohanty, Principal Partner, SRB CA Rajeev Sahu and Ollywood actor and former MP Sidhant Mohapatra joined as the guests of honour.
The event was organised under the chairmanship of Bijoy Acharya, president of Red Swastik Society Odisha Branch and the financial assistance was given to five cancer survivors. 100 PwDs were given artificial organs.
A unique ramp show was performed in which lead members of the Golf Club along with disabled people walked on the ramp. Various cultural programmes were performed and a few persons having contributions in various fields were honoured. Red Swastik Society secretary Debasis Patnaik conducted the event.
