The election campaigning in the 19 wards of the Belpahar municipality has attained a feverish pitch with the filing of nominations by candidates. The ruling BJD has started its campaigning to grab the post of chairperson for the third time in the UlB election. Health Minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak on Sunday started party campaigning along with WODC Chairman Kishore Kumar Mohanty and State lift Irrigation Corporation Chairman Anup Kumar Sai.

Nayak addressed a gathering at Belpahar station and urged the voters to cast votes to BJD candidates for all round development of Belpahar area. He further stated that commitment to provide safe drinking water for the people of Belpahar will be fulfilled within next five years. Mohanty said that there is no alternative for the development of Belpahar unless the BJD comes to power. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has special attention towards development of Belpahar, he claimed.

Earlier, former BJP president Suresh Pujari along with Brajrajnagar MlA Radharani Panda has started campaigning and organising party workers to motivate voters in favour of BJP. Pujari addressed the party workers’ meeting at Belpahar and said that the Belpahar Municipality has developed and many developmental activities have taken place during the regime of the BJP chairmanship.
