To promote a sustainable and equitable Bhubaneswar city, voluntary bodies Centre for Child and Women Development (CCWD), People’s Vision of the City (PVOC) and ActionAid organised an awareness drive on the occasion of the Patha Utsav here on Sunday.
The objective of the campaign was to make citizens aware about a sustainable and equitable Bhubaneswar, said ActionAid regional manager Debabrata Patra. More than 40 volunteers holding placards and chanting slogans like “Safe city for all” and “city for all” marched at Janapath.
Notably, the PVOC) is a programme initiated by the Citizens’ Rights collectives (CiRic) as an attempt to address the urgent need to design and plan equitable and sustainable cities. It is a methodology to develop consensus and plans based on the aspiration and needs of the citizens, especially the most vulnerable, in order to build an equitable and sustainable city in which they wish to live.
