In a road mishap, 30 persons sustained injuries, five of them seriously, after a bus overturned in Trining block of Mayurbhanj district on Sunday.
Sources said the bus named ‘Kris’ set out on its journey from Baripada to Tata in neighbouring Jharkhand district in the morning. Jam-packed with passengers, the bus overturned near Karanjia town. Some locals rushed to the spot and carried out rescue operations.
All the injured were rushed to the Rairangpur Hospital with the help of police personnel. Condition of five of the injured is stated to be critical.
While the exact cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained, it is suspected that the driver could have lost control over the wheels causing the mishap.
