A man was killed and eight others, including four seriously, were injured as a bus named Pujarinee fell 20 feet down the Cuttack-Paradip Road at Paradipgarh village on Sunday morning.
The driver couldn’t control the bus, which was carrying around 30 passengers, as he saw a milkman on a bicycle coming in front of the vehicle all of a sudden. Trying to save the man, he drove the vehicle to the extreme roadside, and the mishap occurred. But, the milkman, identified as Trilochan Sahoo, couldn’t be saved. He died while being taken to Cuttack for treatment. Conditions of four of the eight passengers are stated to be critical.
Villagers soon blocked the road demanding compensation for deceased Trilochan’s family. They were later pacified by the Paradip lock police.
