Burla junior docs demand action against seniors

In a bold step, the Junior Doctors’ Association (JDA) of the Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VSSIMSAR), Burla has demanded strong action against doctors at the hospital for dereliction in duty.

The association members, though didn’t name anyone, alleged that many doctors remain present at the hospital only for a few days in a month and take full-month salary from the State exchequer. “These doctors are doing nothing but depriving poor patients of their legitimate rights of medical services,” said the JDA office-bearers at a Press conference here on Wednesday.

The JDA further demanded an impartial enquiry into the matter of the Hll, whom the VSSIMSAR authorities are showing undesired favour for all its illegal activities in the campus.  “It has been allotted a three-storey building in the campus for various activities, including installing the MRI machine; but nothing has so far been done and the company gets lot of financial benefits from the VSSIMSAR,” alleged JDA president Dr Sankar Ramchandani.

JDA general secretary Dr Samartha Mishra highlighted a nine-point charter of demands before the Government for smooth functioning of the hospital. The demands include uninterrupted water and electricity supply to the collage and hospital. Notably, the JDA have resorted to cease-work agitation from Tuesday pressing for theses demands.
