At a time when the VSSIMSAR (Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Science and Research) is suffering from staff crunch, transfer of some of the doctors without their relievers has stoked public resentment here.

As per information, the Government has issued a fresh order for the transfer of the blood bank officer of the Red Cross Blood Bank of the VSSIMSAR to the district headquarters hospital (DHH) Gajapati without any substitute.
Recently, Dr Kar took specialized training on blood separation using cobe spectra cell separator at Kolkata and also completed a training programme on Plateletpheresis including management of trouble shooting. In his absence, all these works would be severely affected in the hospital and college apprehended the doctors and the common public here. “Further, Dr Kar has also given his option to stay at Burla and serve the people here. But a transfer against his desire not only goes against the public interest, but also will affect the day to day affairs in the hospital,” opined chief advisor of the Odisha medical workers’ association, Burla unit Nihal Singh.
Singh demanded that the Government should cancel the transfer order of Dr Kar with immediate effect.

He has also narrated the difficulties that the premier health institute will face due to the transfer.
